Embeds

To add or edit an embed template, go to "Manage templates" (link on Dashboard). [Administrator Only] 

The standard embed can have colours and fonts adjusted via the online interface. Completely customized embeds can be produced via professional services.

Commenting

A dialog for users to login and make comments will be visible if the event is live and commenting is turned on (both can be configured from the Setup screen). The v5 embed (see below) has social logins, as well as the traditional anonymous login.

Image Width

The width of images is based on the width of your embed template. To change that just go to Manage Templates, click on the template you're using, click the Edit button. Once on the edit page you'll see Size near the bottom of the right column, set that to the width you would like your embed to be and we will automatically give you the widest images possible (up to 800px).

Keep in mind that this change will affect all embeds using that template so if this is a one time thing you should create a new embed template.

Customizing Look and Feel

To change the look and feel of the embed, have a user with administrator or developer permissions:

- Go to Manage Templates
- Click on the name of the template you would like to change
- Click the edit button
- Change the colours and fonts etc
- Click save

The changes will show up when you reload your embed.

WordPress

Wordpress.com strips out all iframe embeds, which prevents our iframe embed (or anyone elses) from working. As a result, we aren't able to provide a workaround for the embed code. 

However, we have a whitelabel technology that is compatible with Wordpress.com. It can use any page from Wordpress.com as a basis for a skin, and host the liveblogs on a subdomain of your site. It is a much more complete solution than the iframe.

v4 vs v5

There are two versions of our embed: v4 and v5. v4 was launched in early 2009. v5 was launched July 14, 2010. Any embed template created after July 14, 2010 will automatically use v5. Existing v4 embeds are deprecated but will continue to function.

The URL within the iframe HTML will start with either http://embed.scribblelive.com/Embed/v4.aspx (v4 embed) or http://embed.scribblelive.com/Embed/v5.aspx (v5 embed).
